01 Two architectures, not two presets

One for movement.
One for placement.

VoltageSpaces is designed around two genuinely different algorithmic networks. The same musical controls produce different internal behaviour because each engine has a different job.

LUSH

The musical character engine. Designed for a tail that moves, colours and enlarges the source.

What it is designed to do

Lush begins with heavy input diffusion, then sends energy through a modulated feedback tank. Delay lengths are intentionally incommensurate, movement is correlated enough to feel coherent and decorrelated enough to keep the stereo field alive.

Frequency-dependent decay lets bass weight and high-frequency softness evolve separately inside a single Decay and Tone relationship. The aim is not neutrality. The aim is a tail that becomes a playable part of the sound.

ROOM
Compact and colourful, with early density and audible personality.
CHAMBER
Rounder build-up, smooth sustain and a controlled sense of movement.
HALL
Wide, deep and evolving across long settings.
PLATE
Bright initial energy with a smooth, modulated late field.

Current boundary: this is the approved product and topology direction. The finished Lush audio network has not yet earned a public sound claim.

NATURAL

The placement engine. Designed for depth, density and a stereo image that does not call attention to itself.

What it is designed to do

Natural separates early-field placement from the late feedback field. A sparse, deterministic early pattern establishes scale and location, while a larger delay network builds density without a periodic fingerprint.

Movement stays lower in level and slower in perception than in Lush. The stereo extraction is designed to remain broad without letting the source image wander. The result should sit behind a vocal, drum or instrument rather than wrapping it in an obvious effect.

ROOM
Short, stable depth for sources that need a believable boundary.
CHAMBER
Dense, polished placement with a smooth transition into the late field.
HALL
Longer scale with clear depth and controlled spectral decay.
PLATE
A dense studio plate interpretation with less wandering movement.

Current boundary: this is the approved product and topology direction. The finished Natural audio network has not yet earned a public sound claim.

02 Same controls, different consequences

The macros speak each engine's language.

CONTROLLUSHNATURAL
SIZERetunes the moving tank and diffusion scale.Rescales early timing, late delay plan and build-up.
DECAYExtends sustain while preserving colour and movement.Controls banded late-field decay while protecting stability.
TONEMoves the tail between dark weight and open sheen.Balances warmth, air and unobtrusive placement.
MOTIONRaises depth and energy in the modulated tank.Adds slower, lower-level decorrelation without image drift.

03 Development status

The distinction is defined.
The sound still has to earn it.

The Lush and Natural audio networks are not finished. VoltageSpaces publishes no comparison audio and makes no finished-sound claim at this stage.
