01 The engine switch

Lush moves through the tail.
Natural holds the source in place.

This is an architecture change. The two-position switch swaps the entire network: Lush runs an 8-channel modulated tank, while Natural pairs 16 feedback lines with an independent early-reflection generator.

The moving engine

LUSH

Modulation is part of the Lush architecture and remains audible through the late field.

What Lush does

The input passes through a 4-stage diffuser and enters two cross-coupled banks. Selected delay lines move at different rates, while Motion changes their depth and speed together.

Turn it up on a vocal bus or snare when the reverb should be heard as part of the production. Longer settings suit synth pads because the movement continues after the initial sound has gone.

SHORT
The tail speaks early.
MEDIUM
Movement remains present after the source.
LONG
A broad tail keeps changing through its decay, which gives sustained parts somewhere to sit and leaves transient sources with an audible wake.
MOTION
Depth and rate move together.

The placement engine

NATURAL

Natural uses early reflections to establish distance before its late field fills in.

What Natural does

Sixteen unequal feedback lines build the late field after a separate early-reflection stage. Shallow variation breaks up ringing while the stereo image stays stable under long decay.

Use Natural when an acoustic recording needs a boundary or a dry dialogue track needs distance. Short settings establish a room; longer ones can support piano and strings while the original position stays clear.

EARLY
Reflection timing marks the boundary.
DENSE
The late field fills in behind it.
SHORT
Room-scale settings build quickly.
LONG
The centre stays steady while the tail runs.

02 Listening room

The current listening files have a narrow job.

These 60 files predate the current shipped signal graph and contain bare-engine reverb. They are useful for comparing Lush with Natural at matched Mix settings; they do not demonstrate the complete plug-in path. A later render set will supersede them.

Comparison method. Each source offers the same Mix steps for both engines. One peak-normalisation gain is shared across all variants of that source.

03 Same controls, different consequences

The shared controls reach different internals.

CONTROLLUSHNATURAL
ARCHITECTUREHigh diffusion, audible modulation and a moving late field.Structured early reflections, very high density and minimal modulation.
SIZECoordinates scale, early-field spread and tail movement.Coordinates room scale, reflection shape and early-to-late balance.
DECAYExtends the tail while preserving colour.Extends the tail while preserving placement.
TONEMoves the tail between dark weight and open sheen.Balances warmth, air and unobtrusive placement.
MOTIONBrings modulation depth and rate forward as audible character.Adds subtle variation while the stereo image holds still.

04 Availability

The measurements are one part of the product.

Lush and Natural sit inside their lab reference envelopes. The audio above is an older bare-engine render set, so the current product may differ.
